Emergency Preparedness and Response

The Emergency Preparedness and Response Program is a database of seniors and volunteers so that in an emergency, first responders and/or community volunteers can do wellness checks on seniors in their area and potentially assist with evacuation.
We can offer the first 150 seniors who register a free winter emergency preparedness kit (one per household).

Emergency Kits
Our emergency kits are designed to support you in a winter power outage. They contain a lantern/flashlight, an emergency cook stove and fuel, water carrier, candles, matches, batteries & hand warmers.

Seniors
Register for our database of seniors. You’ll receive an emergency preparedness kit and a visit from our coordinator, who can discuss programs available in the Slocan Valley that can support you.

Volunteers
Register as a volunteer for the Emergency Preparedness program. We’ll give you a map of the vulnerable seniors in your area and inform you as to how you can help.

To register contact anabokstrom@wegcss.org, phone 250-551-6190 or fill out the contact form below and we will get in touch.
