Opening Hours (updated Jan 2025) Tuesdays 9.30am – 5.30pm with Peter, LC manager

The Fab Lab at the Learning Centre provides access to 3D printing and laser cutting technology.
This equipment can only be accessed when a member of staff is present.

Training will be provided free of charge, however there is a cost for use of the machines, as well as materials costs. Please see our pricing information at the bottom of this page.

With support from our staff you can learn to design and model, or simply print a 3D object at-cost, or laser cut artwork or functional designs from various materials.

Ultimaker 5S – A dual nozzle printer capable of printing in two different colours or materials, with a 330 x 240 x 300 mm build volume.

Ender 3 V2 with Palette 3 extension – The Ender 3 series are great learner machines, and with the Palette 3 extension, we can 3D print with up to four different colours. It also has a BLTouch mod to enable auto levelling with a 220 x 220 x 250 mm build volume.

Formlabs Form 3 Resin Printer – Capable of very fine details, we also have a curing station to remove excess resin, and a UV turntable to solidify finished models. 145 × 145 × 185 mm build volume.

Creality 10S Pro – Features a huge 300mm x 300mm x 400mm build space, and auto levelling through a conductive sensor.

Trotec Speedy 300 – A fast and powerful laser cutter with a bed size of 73.66 x 43.18 cm. Capable of etching and cutting into a variety of materials.

Fab Lab Pricing Policy

3D Modeling – $30 per hour (minimum one hour)

Laser Cutting – $25 per hour (minimum one hour) plus materials costs.

3D printing services- cost varies, based on $1 per hour machine time plus materials cost, contact us for a quote or to find out more . Students aged 12 – 18 are eligible for free 3d printing services.
