Important Update for the Duration of the Covid-19 Pandemic:

WEGCSS would like to offer the best Food Bank service our resources allow, while minimizing the risk of Covid 19 infection to all.  We have altered our Food Bank operations to protect the community, the volunteers and the staff.  We offer food bank supplies first come first served from the outside of the building. Please always bring your own bags or boxes because we cannot supply them. We look forward to being able to share meals and social time again.  Meanwhile, thanks for your patience. 


Location: 1001 Harold Street beside the WE Graham Community School 

We serve the Slocan Valley from New Denver to Playmor Junction. 

Open 11am-3pm on the first and third Thursday of each month, first come first serve. 

Dress warmly as you will be waiting for your food box outside. 

Please practice physical distancing and stay 20’ back from the Food Bank door until your turn.

Leave a message with the following information: 

  • Your full name and contact information  

  •  Number of people in your household (include children) 

  • Your physical address and directions for delivery 

  • Any food restrictions (i.e., gluten free, or vegetarian) 

  • Have you used the Food Bank already this year?  (If not, we have a one-page registration to go through with you over the phone).

We deliver in the Slocan Valley on Food Bank Thursdays (always 1st & 3rd each month), 3-5pm. 

We need advance notice to arrange these deliveries with our amazing volunteers. 

Please call by Monday if you need a delivery for Thursday. 



If you need help urgently, need more information, or need other resources, please call us before December 17th and leave your phone number or email address.  We will return your call if received before we close for the holidays.

W. E. Graham Community Service Society and the Food Bank will be closed from December 18-January 5.  The first Food Bank Day in 2021 is January 7, 11am-3pm.

Every 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, the Slocan Valley Food Cupboard provides supplemental groceries to those in need.

How It Works

  • 10:30 AM – Coffee served in the Food Bank kitchen. Take a number to hold your place in line for food distribution.
  • Families, you are invited to request a family number, from the Office Manager.  This gives you priority in line. Family numbers are given out between 10:30 – 11:00 AM. If you arrive later than this, there might not be any family numbers left.
  • 11:00 AM – Doors open. Lunch is served and numbers begin being called for food distribution.
  • Please bring proof of address when registering. You must renew your registration each new year.
  • Please bring your own bags or box.
