Therapeutic Activation Program for Seniors
Launching June 2025 in the Slocan Valley
The Therapeutic Activation for Seniors Program (TAPS) is a new initiative by WEGCSS, funded through United Way British Columbia, designed to support older adults who face challenges building social connections on their own.
Intake begins in May 2025, with programming set to start in June.
TAPS offers recreational and educational activities that encourage social engagement and personal growth. Tailored to meet a variety of mobility, cognitive, and emotional needs, the program provides a welcoming, inclusive space where seniors can connect, learn, and thrive.
Grounded in a holistic, strengths-based, and person-centered approach, TAPS celebrates the unique experiences of each participant. The program fosters a sense of community, helping reduce social isolation and supporting emotional, physical, and mental well-being.
Weekly sessions will run at the following locations:
- Tuesdays – New Denver at Knox Hall
- Wednesdays – Slocan at Slocan Legion
- Thursdays – Passmore Hall
Each session includes a healthy meal, gentle exercise, and engaging activities, with plans for community outings throughout the year.
