Slocan valley better at home senior activities
Funded by United Way, the Slocan Valley Better at Home (SVBH) program operates through WEGCSS. We have expanded our services to include workshops, fitness classes, and outings to local amenities within the region. SVBH supports seniors aged 65+ in RDCK Area H, including Silverton, New Denver, and Slocan, by providing access to social, recreational, and wellness activities that may otherwise be difficult to reach due to transportation or financial constraints. The program offers transportation, fosters social connections through group activities, and promotes physical and mental well-being.
Current events include a Drop-In Walking Group every Monday (excluding holidays) and transportation to Nakusp Hot Springs every second Tuesday of the month (registration required).
